Making Valentine’s Day Special For Kids

I make a big deal about holidays. There, I said it. Birthdays come with balloons and banners and a stack of presents and a homemade cake, I start planning Christmas outfits right after Halloween is over and my kids WILL be wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day. I have had friends question my desire to make Valentine’s Day special for my kids, but with my overall zeal for holidays, it should come as no surprise that I will turn a romantic holiday into a full two-week celebration of love for my boys.

Our Toddler is in Full Time Preschool: A Stay-At-Home Mom Account

Because it is what is best for him. Because it is what is best for me. As much as I want to keep him home, shelter him from everything, and protect him, I know my limits. And his. It’s that time of year again. We are all making (and already breaking) those New Year’s resolutions. Every year I resolve to really focus on my children. To work on patience, grace and to really enjoy them in this busy season of our lives. It isn’t an easy task as I’m sure every mom out there will tell you. We get so many, “Enjoy them while they are young, it goes by so fast.” But ultimately when your in the trenches of raising mostly unreasonable, completely dependent humans with an endless amount of energy we get TIRED.

Here’s to the Bare Minimum Moms

Here’s to the Bare Minimum Moms. You know who we are. We are the ones who wake up every morning a beat behind everyone else. We don’t engage in any sort of “mommy wars” because we don’t even bother to compete. Instead of craft projects and fitness ideas on our Pinterest boards, you find nothing but life hacks and workouts you can do in a chair.
