I Let My Kids Run Up the Slide…Why Don’t You?

When I watch my kids go up the slide instead of climbing the ladder, I see them get a look of determination in their eyes as they grasp the sides of the slide. They gain purchase with their feet to conquer the incline, only to slip and slide back down on their bellies, get up, and try again. It’s a game, and they seem so proud of themselves when they finally reach the top. I see this as a good thing.

Thank you for opening up your home.  Thank you for giving them a soft place to land. Thank you for loving them with your whole heart and for showing him that love is patient and kind and safe. Thank you for doing the hard work. Thank you for being a happy chapter of his story even when you don’t know how it ends. I see you, and YOU are an amazing mother. 

Ten Things You Should Know About Raising Triplets

Even if I don’t love the spotlight, the triplet card is always great for starting conversations or saving an awkward one. It makes us memorable, for sure! My husband and I sometimes make a game of seeing how far into a conversation we can make it without spilling the beans that we’re parents of triplets. Our record to date is about one minute. It’s usually inevitable once someone asks your kids’ ages, and you repeat the same number three times.
