Meet Kara, Our Des Moines Moms Blog Owner

Kids :: Lucan, 6 and Gracelyn, 2

Day In 5 Words :: Grace upon grace, upon grace.

Major Life Influence ::  Both of my parents have taught me the value of a job well-done and honesty. Both of them worked at jobs they didn’t love so they could provide a steady, stable home for me and give me a new trombone to play 🙂

Go-To Mom Hack :: Don’t let your kids open and play with all of their Christmas or birthday presents at once. We put everything up on a shelf and then over the next couple of months they can get down something else that’s new to play with! You can avoid having way too many toys and not having anything to play with!

Biggest Guilty Pleasure :: Binge-watching British television (I love all things Masterpiece Theater and The Great British Baking Show) or movies. I also love reading, which leads to lengthy conversations with friends who are always looking for a recommendation.

Favorite Vacation Spot :: Kauai, HI

Meet Andrea, Our Des Moines Moms Blog Owner

Kids :: 3 kids: Emerson, 5, Foster, 3, and Harlow, 1.

Day In 5 Words :: Juggling kids, play, work, home

Major Life Influence ::  I am grateful for my mom and the example she gave me as a mom. She stayed home with me and my siblings and instilled in us a love of God, family, and reading, the value of hard work, and the importance of asking questions.

Go-To Mom Hack :: Freezer meals that I can throw in the crockpot are my solution to dinnertime, or what we like to call witching hour! And always prepare coffee pot the night before so all you have to do is turn it on in the morning!

Biggest Guilty Pleasure :: Eating dark chocolate and enjoying a glass of wine while watching a show or reading a good book after the kids are in bed.

Favorite Vacation Spot :: anywhere near the water!

The most rewarding thing about being part of City Moms Blog Network…

CMBN is an amazing group of women who come from all walks of life and who are in all seasons of parenting. From work-at-home moms to working moms, moms of littles and moms of school-aged kids, big-city moms, and small-town moms, we are all represented and learn from each other. CMBN truly is a network that fosters community and encouragement both personally and professionally. From the first day I joined, I felt welcomed and seen as an individual.
