We are proud to partner with our friends at Apricot Lane, the leading fashion boutique retail franchise. Not only does Apricot Lane provide the latest fashion trends for women at affordable prices, but with 23 years of franchise experience they are committed to supporting and helping each franchisee reach success! Today we share with you a family that has turned their passion of shopping and fashion into a family run business by opening their Apricot Lane store in Louisville, Kentucky. Now the can share their passion with others!

How It All Began

I have always been a part of fashion and textiles, ever since I could remember.  I began sewing at age 10 in my grandfather’s manufacturing plant in the summers.   I learned all the stages of cutting, sewing, finishing and packing the winter coats up to ship out to our retailers.  I attended the markets with my Dad, and continue to do so today with my staff.

I have a Clothing and Textile degree from ASU and a minor in business. After graduating, I moved on to being a buyer at Neiman Marcus, a district manager for Cracker Barrel retail stores, had a drapery business, along with helping many friends in their boutiques.

We enjoy being a part of something bigger than just the brick and mortar store. We also love helping to promote other women-driven businesses here locally.

The Dream Job

When a neighbor introduced me to a few Apricot Lanes, I decided to pursue this myself.

The franchise gives me flexibility in buying my products and support for marketing.

We are involved in many local organizations to give back or provide them with outfits for their appearances, such as Miss Kentucky Teen and the Derby Princesses.  We enjoy being a part of something bigger than just the brick and mortar store. We also love helping to promote other women-driven businesses here locally.

Our store specialized in both mother and daughter shopping, as well as grandmothers. They all leave with something stylish and fun, while enjoying the experience our staff offers them.

Katie Meinhart has been my manager for years. She has been with us since the beginning, when still in high school as a sales person and stylist. After her degree we hired Katie as manager and assistant buyer. She hires, trains the staff, executes social media and attends all markets for our buying trips. We both have a passion for fashion and customer service, and I think this shows. She is family to me. Now going on almost seven years in Louisville, I couldn’t be more proud of how far the store has come and how supportive of local business we truly are. We love our Apricot Lane family and all our loyal guests.
