City Moms Blog Network Announces First International Site: Military Moms Blog
Much-needed resource for military families first to take community-sourced blogging beyond the border

July 13, 2017

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. While serving our country domestically or abroad, military family life can be very rewarding, but it also carries unique challenges. Recognizing the need for a central source for military moms – in any branch of service, whether active duty or dependent – City Moms Blog Network, together with military moms, Christy Curtis and Julie Cohen, is launching a much-needed resource for military families: Military Moms Blog.

Frequent moves, deployed spouses, changes in local social support, distance from family, and breaks in career are all common stress points for moms in the military. Military Moms Blog will address these issues and many more by posting creative articles from a variety of military moms as contributors in one, central source.

“Readers will be joining an international community whose aim is to support one another and make the military seem a little smaller,” explained Christy Curtis, Military Moms Blog Co-Founder currently stationed in England with her U.S. Air Force husband. “We will be commiserating with each other through humor, tough topics and research-based articles on issues vital to the military family.”

“By coming together as fellow military moms, we feel Military Moms Blog is the best way we can reach and support one another,” added Julie Cohen, Military Moms Blog Co-Founder currently stationed in Italy with her husband who is also in the U.S. Air Force. “We want to help military moms settle in, find friends, encourage resiliency in their children, feel supported as a parent, and finally learn the meaning of all of the military acronyms!”

One of the best features of Military Moms Blog will be its connection to City Moms Blog Network, which now boasts nearly 80 sites nationwide and millions of readers each month. Each site is owned by a local mom, who recruits more local moms to contribute content and offer expertise in all topics associated with motherhood. Military Moms Blog is the first site to take that community approach beyond the borders of one city to reach moms in a community scattered across the globe. Military Moms Blog owners, Curtis and Cohen, are connected to all City Moms Blog Network site owners, linking them to a vital network of like-minded entrepreneurs. This community of moms work together to make sure each site is successful.

“Christy Curtis and Julie Cohen have caught a fantastic vision for military moms across the globe,” said Stephanie Flies, City Moms Blog Network founder and director. “We are thrilled to welcome Military Moms Blog to our sisterhood of city mom blogs and look forward to helping this important resource become the go-to site for moms serving our country and their families here and abroad.”

Military Moms Blog officially launched on July 11, 2017.
